In March 2004, in the middle of the invasion of a bicentennial Haiti by an airborne military force that would soon be handed over to the control of the same Brazil, my first daughter was born and I wrote a poem about the connection between the two realities and the inner/outer oppressions that poison attempts at change.

The song contains allusions to the soundtrack from the film “Black Orpheus” and Gilberto Gil/Caetano Veloso’s epic song “Haiti”. The track features spectacular Bossa/Flamenco solo by guitarist John Hussain.
